WPE online gallery is second in state

The Waldo Pafford Elementary online art gallery has been rated No. 2 in the state by a website, according to a news release.
Artsonia.com recently recognized the gallery, headed by WPE art teacher Carol Hough, who received the Leadership Award from the organization. The school’s gallery is at artsonia.com/schools/waldo1. The award also recognizes achievement in the area of technology integration within the school arts program.
During the 2012-13 school year, the WPE gallery showcased 4,740 pieces of artwork. The collection has been visited more than 796,333 times and has received 143 comments from friends and family. Keepsakes imprinted with the students’ artwork can be purchased from the site, with Artsonia donating 20 percent of its annual product revenue to the school art program.
