Hats can start being thrown into the ring Aug. 31 for public offices in Midway and Flemington.
Mayor and all city council seats in Midway and Flemington are up for election this year.
The last day to qualify is Sept. 4. Interested residents must fill out candidacy applications and pay qualifying fees. Qualifying takes place at the board of elections office on Commerce Street in downtown Hinesville.
Midway qualifying fees are $324 for mayor and $162 for city councilmembers.
In Flemington, candidates pay $150 to run for mayor and $75 for city council.
