Flash flood watch renewed for Friday

SAVANNAH - Forecasters have placed six southeast Georgia counties under a flash flood watch as heavy rains continue to soak communities near the coast.

The National Weather Service says showers and thunderstorms in Savannah and surrounding counties could bring up to four inches of rain Friday. The ground is already saturated in many coastal counties from two to five inches of rain since Wednesday.

Counties included in the flash floood watch are Chatham, Liberty, McIntosh, Effingham, Bryan and Long.
