Ford takes over reins of Liberty Chamber board

The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce held its annual banquet on Friday, January 13, at La Quinta Inn & Suites in Hinesville.

The banquet is held every year to recognize and honor the hard work and dedication of the board of directors of the Chamber. This year, the Chamber swore in its new chairman, Joe Ford.

Ford will serve to guide the Chamber toward achieving its mission and is charged with the accomplishment of goals and objectives of the Chamber. He will be responsible for providing oversight to all established committees, as well as chairing the executive board.

“We are excited to have Joe as the chairman of our board. We know that he will accomplish a lot in this new role,” said Chamber/CVB CEO Leah Poole.

Immediate past chairman Jimmy Shanken, who served a two-year term, swore in Ford to begin his first term as the new board chairman.

“We are thankful for Jimmy’s hard work, service and dedication. We are also looking forward to his continued service to our board,” Ford said.
