The last two people suspected of being involved in the shooting death of a young Hinesville man on June 16 are in custody.
One turned himself in Wednesday night and a third teenager was arrested in Illinois earlier Wednesday.
David Anthony Jones Jr., 28, died last week at Liberty Regional Medical Center after officers found him in his home in Tapco Mobile Home Park, suffering three gunshot wounds to the stomach.
HPD Chief of Detectives Maj. Thomas Cribbs said Thursday that Steve Plair, 24, of Hinesville turned himself in at the Hinesville Police Department earlier the night before .
On Wednesday, Cribbs said Steven Bond, 17, was arrested earlier in Decatur, Ill. Cribbs did not speculate how or why Bond went to Illinois. The detective did say Bond was arrested by federal marshals without incident at a residence.
Cribbs did not say how the marshals knew Bond was at the home and was unsure if the home belonged to a relative.
On Tuesday, two others, Rodriquez Platt, 19, and Jedediah Duncan, 19, were arrested.
They and Plair have each been charged with one count of murder. Armed robbery charges are pending.
Bond’s return to Liberty County has yet to be determined. Cribbs said it was too early to tell if he would fight extradition.
Cribbs has not discussed why they are suspected of being involved in Jones’ death.
