Oceana Irizarry, 9, who along with her father was hit by a plane on a Florida beach Sunday, has died, according to national and regional media.

The girl and her father, Sgt. 1st Class Ommy Irizarry of Fort Stewart, were vacationing in Venice, Fla., to celebrate his wedding anniversary to his wife, Rebecca.

Reports are that the plane was having mechanical problems and could not make it to an airport so the pilot, Karl Kokomoor of Englewood, Fla., crash landed it on the beach.
