The Hinesville Area Arts Council is hosting the 15th Annual Blues, Brews & BBQ in downtown Hinesville this Saturday, Sept. 22 from 1-11 p.m. The event will be held in the public parking lot behind the Main Street buildings, the Coastal Courier and the New & Not Shop.

This year’s sponsors include presenting sponsor The Shanken Team, Coldwell Banker Holtzman, Realtors ®; the Liberty County Convention & Visitors Bureau; the Hinesville Downtown Development Authority, Fort Stewart/HAAF FMWR; A Plus Realty; Kathy Villafane, Realtor ® and Coldwell Banker Holtzman, Realtors ®.

The event includes a barbecue contest, where judges will judge multiple categories such as ribs, chipped barbecue and chicken. Contest begins at 4 p.m. Judge’s results will be announced with the People’s Choice Award for best barbecue. 

A full meal will be available with numerous booths selling barbecue, sides and dessert, accompanied by a beer garden and live music. Most vendors are cash only, with ATM’s in walking distance, according to HAAC. Beer sales remain cash only, and for those 21 and over with valid ID.

There will be sidewalk chalk art and activities for children available throughout the night. Some activities will have a fee this year, HAAC said. 

The entertainment schedule includes Luke Lander, and other local bands. The event is free and open to the public. Strollers, blankets and chairs are allowed at the event, outside food, drink and coolers are prohibited.
