HDDA market re-scheduled due to hazardous weather

The Hinesville Downtown Development Authority's Homegrown and Handmade Market is re-scheduled for 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22 at Bradwell Park due to incoming hazardous weather.

The National Weather Service doppler radar indicated showers with strong wind gusts between Richmond Hill, Sunbury and the Altamaha River, moving north. The hazard is strong winds at 45-55 mph. THe impact expected is minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of light, unsecured objects. Those in the path of showers include: Savannah, Hinesville, Pooler, Richmond Hill, Darien, Ludowici, Tibet and Fort Stewart.

At 12:17 PM EST, National Weather Service doppler radar indicated

showers with strong wind gusts between Richmond Hills, Sunbury and

the Altamaha River, moving rapidly toward north.

 

HAZARD...strong winds 45 to 55 mph.

IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of

light, unsecured objects.

Savannah, Hinesville, Pooler, Richmond Hill, Darien, Ludowici, Tibet

and Fort Stewart.


Affected: Coastal Liberty; Coastal Bryan; Coastal McIntosh; Coastal Chatham The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a High Surf Advisory, which is in effect until noon EST Friday.


* LOCATIONS...Coastal Bryan, Coastal Chatham, Coastal Liberty and Coastal McIntosh.

* SURF ZONE IMPACTS...Up to 8 foot breaking waves will be dangerous to anyone who enters the surf.

* TIMING...Until noon EST Friday.

Everyone should remain out of the water. Mariners should use extreme caution, especially near inlets, cuts and bays. Swells approaching these areas can lead to large, dangerous breaking waves. Keep a clear distance away from the ocean. Structures such as piers and jetties will be particularly treacherous.
