High speed chase ends in arrest

A high speed chase that started when a driver fled the scene of an accident in Long County ended in Hinesville when he “made contact” with law enforcement officers around 8 p.m. Sunday on Airport Road near Taylors Creek Elementary, according to authorities.

 

According to Long County Sheriff Craig Nobles, the suspect was involved in an accident with another vehicle and fled the scene. Long county deputies pursued the suspect through Highway 196 towards Hinesville at a high rate of speed. When the suspect attempted to turn onto Airport Road he encounter law enforcement officers.

 

It is not known if he wrecked his vehicle. Police found three children in the back seat, according to Nobles. The suspect has been arrested and is being charged with DUI according to Nobles. He is facing charges of child endangerment and reckless driving.


No one was injured in the incident, according to authorities.
