A fire Saturday night displaced two people on the 1500 block of Bayberry Drive in the Pine Ridge Subdivision. 

According to Hinesville Fire Department Captain Chris Moss, when firefighters arrived they encountered heavy black smoke coming from the garage area. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within 15 minutes. 

The garage area of the home sustained heavy fire and smoke damage while the rest of the home sustained smoke damage. Two occupants, one adult male and one 10-year old child, were displaced and the American Red Cross was notified.  The fire is under  under investigation.
