Team members for the Rotary District 6920 Friendship Exchange Team have been selected for a three-week trip to the Caribbean in March. These individuals have been selected as Governor Margaret Jacobs, Rotary District 6920, representatives. Team members spent time on Tybee Island to train, bond and get to know each other, spending time in friendship and fellowship. As the team members will travel abroad they will live, experience and travel among neighboring islands experiencing Rotary as friends from Georgia Rotary. They will visit various Rotary projects on each island to include a Rotary initiative in Puerto-Rico: “Habitat Puerto Rico Eco-Farming”
The project is supported by local Rotarians and creates a stronger farming industry in Puerto Rico – covering each step of the ‘food chain’ – from farm, to farmers markets, to homes (healthy meals), restaurants and stores. They will also spend time in Jamaica and on other islands. Hinesville Rotary Club President Jack Standard and Hinesville Rotary Club members sponsored Kirsten Schreihofer for the team. Schreihofer is recent graduate from Georgia Southern, Armstrong Campus and a long time Hinesville resident. She rounds the team of six headed south. Shortly after graduation, Schreihofer moved to Virginia to pursue graduate school and work.
