A Midway man, who was hit in traffic June 17 while riding a bicycle on Highway 84, has died, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
And Trooper Quincy Melvin said authorities are looking for the driver of a white pickup that is believed to have struck Pernell Boston, 45.
Quincy said Boston was riding east on Oglethorpe Highway near Charlie Butler Road just after midnight when he was hit by what is believed to be a white truck, which was damaged on the right front. A mirror from the pickup was found near the victim.
A passing
motorist saw Boston on the road and stopped to try to help and called
authorities. The victim was taken to Memorial Health University Medical Center
in Savannah with injuries to his head and lower body. He died Friday.
Quincy encouraged anyone with information about the crime, the driver or the vehicle to call 912-370-2600 or 911.
