It was more than just Mexican food being carried out of the Rodeo’s Mexican Restaurant on Aug. 7. Police were called when a man physically carried his girlfriend out of the restaurant and placed her in his Jeep. The restaurant owner noticed a scuffle happening at one of his tables and saw the man carry the woman out to the car. The owner followed to ask if they planned to pay for their meal. The owner then realized the woman was someone he knew and she was asking for someone to help her and call the police. When officers arrived the woman said she and her boyfriend, who had been away for seven months, went out for dinner. During their date he kept asking to see her cell phone and accusing her of cheating on him. She said the argument started inside the restaurant until her boyfriend picked her up and carried her to the Jeep. She said the boyfriend then stood by the car door so she couldn’t get out. The boyfriend said the woman was acting different toward him, texting people during their dinner date. He said she was being vague with her replies and then refused to talk to him. He said he grabbed her arm to walk her out of the restaurant but she pulled away. So, he picked her up and carried her outside. The man was arrested.
