Interviews with sheriff candidates

Liberty County voters will decide in a special election Tuesday who will be sheriff here for the next two years.
Seven men qualified to fill the unexpired term of Don Martin, who died last spring.
To help you decide who to vote for, Courier staffers recently invited the candidates to sit down for interviews, which we videotaped.
Five of the seven agreed, have been completed and have links from this story. Candidate Quinton O'Neal never returned calls to schedule the interview. Candidate Steve Sikes initially agreed, but postponed last week when he said he had bronchitis and attempts to get him to reschedule the interview have not been successful.
The candidates were given the questions before the interviews to help them prepare and cut the apprehension of being in front of a video camera.
