For the second time in two years a Walthourville home was struck Wednesday morning by a vehicle.
According to Walthourville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Chief, Anthony Burns, a home which sits on the corner of Talmadge and Carter roads was struck by a pickup truck hauling a boat.
Burns said the driver did not sustain any injuries in the accident. The home however did not fair too well according to Burns. A county inspector who was called to the scene told Burns the residence, which was unoccupied but did have power and working propane, sustained significant damage and would need extensive repairs.
Burns said this the second time the home had been struck by a vehicle. In that incident a man fleeing from a Liberty County deputy struck the home with a passenger car and fled. At the time a truck driver was living there, but he was not home.
