Join the City, HDDA plant trees this Saturday
Arbor Day Foundation

Hinesville has once again been named a Tree City USA community by the Arbor Day Foundation in honor its commitment to community forestry. To celebrate, the City of Hinesville and Hinesville Downtown Development Authority will host a tree planting on Saturday, Feb. 27, at 11 a.m. in Bryant Commons Park, located at 438 W. Oglethorpe Hwy. During the tree planting, Mayor Allen Brown and representatives from the Hinesville Youth Council, Keep Liberty Beautiful, Morning Glory Garden Club and ESG, Inc. will plant six citrus trees in the park’s small orchard.

The City of Hinesville has earned and maintained the Tree City USA community designation since 1988. There are four standards that must be met to become a Tree City USA community: a tree board or department, a tree care ordinance, a community forestry program with an annual budget of at least $2 per capita and an Arbor Day observance
