LCDA preps area for Tradeport West
LCDA_3c

The Liberty County Development Authority Monday took action aimed at making the Tradeport West business park ready for siting of future projects. The Thomas and Hutton Co. will survey, design and engineer for water, sewer, road, rail and other access for the northern 200 acres of the 1,249-acre park on U.S. Highway 17 at Midway.

LCDA officials have shown TPW to some prospects and also consider that it could be a good candidate for a shovel-ready project if federal or state stimulus funds become available.

Tradeport West, a Georgia Ready for Accelerated Development-certified site, is one mile from

U.S. Highway 84 and three miles from Interstate 95. The park is strategically positioned 25 minutes from Interstate 16 and 35 minutes from the Port of Savannah. Tradeport West offers large rail-served sites with Foreign Trade Zone tax incentive designation.

TPW adjoins the authority’s Midway Industrial Park which is on U.S. Highway 84 and just two miles from U.S. Highway 17 and Interstate 95. Elan Technology, Hugo Boss, International Greetings, SNF Floquip and Truss Mart are in the Midway Industrial Park home. That park is built out with the exception of two sites that can be rail served.
