LCSO holds annual sex offender meeting
LCSO

On Halloween night, the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office held their annual sex offender meeting. Beginning at 5 p.m., Sex Offender Coordinator Sgt. Brittany Fleming began the session at the Liberty County Justice Center.

“We go over new laws in place for sex offenders,” Fleming said. “This keeps them accountable for their actions.”

The meeting occurs specifically on Halloween night and requires all sex offenders that are on probation or parole to attend the meeting.  The meeting runs until 9 p.m. and has happened the last eight years.

Registered sex offenders cannot live within 1000 ft. of any child care facility, school, Public Park, and many more places. They must also report their address to the sex offender registry for life.
