The Liberty County School System held a district wide poster contest in February in observance of Heart month. This contest was sponsored by WomenHeart Hinesville and a monetary gift card was given to the 1st through 3rd place winners. There were a total 36 posters that made it to final judging on February 28, 2019. All entries were great and it was a difficult challenge to narrow the winners down to only the top three, said Sandy Wells WomenHeart Hinesville Co-Founder.

First place went to Lyman Hall Elementary School student Glorious Sykes. Keya’Zjhane Green, a Frank Long Elementary School student, took second place. Waldo Pafford Elementary School student Ne’miah Alston earned third place.

Judges Sandy Wells and Rene Harwell of Liberty Regional Hospital and Kim Halverson, LCSS Lead Nurse, had the daunting task of selecting the top three winners. There were also two honorable mentions from each school identified. All of the winners and honorable mentions will receive free admission to the upcoming WomenHeart Hinesville 5K walk/run scheduled for May 11, during Mother’s Day weekend.  Additionally, the first place poster design will be used as the T-shirt logo for the 5K walk/run.

School Nutrition Director Stephanie Fox stated LCSS and WomenHeart Hinesville wanted to find another avenue to highlight the importance of having healthy hearts while showcasing the talents of Liberty County students.

The Liberty County School System and WomenHeart Hinesville thank all students who participated in the poster contest.
