LCSS to host military interstate compact training
LCSS-logo 1

The Liberty County School System, along with Camden County schools, will host a state-wide training at the board office Tuesday, May 7, from 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and from 1-3 p.m. The morning session is open to military and community family support providers and parents. The afternoon session is open to district superintendents, administrators, counselors and registrars.

All Georgia public schools are mandated to comply with rules and regulations contained in the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children. The compact seeks to make transition easier for the children of military families so they are afforded the same opportunities for educational success as other children, and are not penalized or delayed in achieving their educational goals. Applicable to transfers among public school systems, the compact addresses the key education issues encountered by military families in the areas of eligibility, enrollment, placement and graduation.
