The 2017-2018 Leadership Liberty class toured Liberty Regional Medical Center (LRMC) March 7 as part of their nine-month leadership development class.

Class participants received an overview presentation of Liberty Regional facilities and services from Director of Marketing and Public Relations Rene’ Harwell.

Elise Stafford, chief long-term care officer at Coastal Manor, provided an overview of the services they provide to aid in maintaining a quality of life for their residents and shared information about their state-of-the-art training program in working with patients with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

Liberty County Commissioner Connie Thrift, board liaison to LRMC, presented information about the partnerships and collaborations that assist in addressing and solving challenges in accessing quality healthcare.

Chief Nursing Officer Donna Cochrane led the class in a tour of the hospital, which included a tour of one of the new ambulances and going inside an operating room.

The class was able to enjoy lunch at the LRMC cafeteria, learning that its dining facilities are open to the public as well.

Leadership Liberty is nine-month class, in which class participants meet at least once per month and learn about various functions of the community, like county and city government, public health and education, tourism, economic development and more.
