The Liberty County Convention and Visitors Bureau (LCCVB) hosted a free barbecue May 15 in Bradwell Park to celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW) 2023. The barbecue featured live music and giveaways to celebrate the tourism industry in Liberty County.

NTTW is held every year by the U.S. Travel Association to celebrate the travel industry and the role that it plays in our nation. The travel and tourism industry stimulates economic growth, creates vibrant communities, provides job opportunities and creates new businesses.

This industry elevates the quality of life for residents across the country and in Liberty County. Locally, tourism saves each household over $300 a year in taxes and that number rises with each passing year. The backbones of the tourism industry are the members of communities who work in the hotel industry, because they ensure each guest who visits has a clean and welcoming environment during their stay.

“Each year, we celebrate the hotel industry by providing gifts to our hoteliers and their staff. We are so grateful for the work that they do and appreciate the opportunity to show them our appreciation,” said Leah Poole, LCCVB CEO.
