Liberty County under tropical storm warning

Liberty County is under a tropical storm warning. According to the Liberty County Emergency Management Agency, Hurricane Michael is now a category three storm as of the 5 p.m.advisory.

The storm is located 295 miles South of Panama City. The National Weather Service is predicting 2-4 inches of rain in our area.

Tropical storm conditions are possible within the next 36 hours with winds from 34-63 MPH. The earliest onset of these winds may start in the evening hours tomorrow and last through Thursday.

 

As with any land falling hurricane an increased threat of tornadoes will be present through Thursday. Outer bands of Michael may produce these storms as they pass over the area.

Liberty’s EMA is in partial activation of it’s EOC at this time.
