summer jobs

School is out and summer is in! Although summer means rest and rejuvenation for students and it can also be extra time earning some extra cash.  To get started teens can set up accounts on Indeed.com or usajobs.gov, jobs sites that let you know which businesses are looking for jobs. There are postings at the LCRD for lifeguards, swim instructors, and day camp counselors.  The applications can be picked up at the Liberty County Recreation Department and the Liberty County Board of Commissioners Office.  You can also access the applications online at www.libertycountyga.com under the Employment tab.

If you are looking for valuable experience this summer instead of money you can apply for the Summer Youth program in Riceboro. Ran by the City of Riceboro, the program gives teenagers a feel of what they want to do when they get of school. After submitting an application a youth will be called in for an interview to share what his/her interest are. Teenagers will work closely with professionals in the county such as architects or engineers. Luncheons, and career and college fair days will also be held. This program is specifically for adolescents who live in Riceboro or has immediate family who live Riceboro.  If interested, hurry and apply. The deadline was June 4, although they still accept applications after that date if they have slots available.   Anyone who is interested can pick up an application at Riceboro city hall or email dattical@cityofRiceboro.com and ask for an application. Ages 14-18 years old can apply.
