Schools that have announced closures are:

Liberty County

Fort Stewart

Long County

First Presbyterian Christian Academy

Savannah-Chatham County

McIntosh County

Bryan County (already closed until Jan. 8)

Hinesville will close city hall, according to a release from the city. Officials will monitor conditions to determine when City Hall will reopen.

Household garbage will not be picked up tomorrow and no yard waste will be picked up until the following week.

Hinesville Municipal Court will not be held. The court will contact those who were summoned to attend via mail for a rescheduled date. You may also call the court at 912-368-8206.

Liberty Transit buses will not run.

An email from Liberty County Administrator Joey Brown said county offices also will be closed.

County Offices will be closed tomorrow as the NWS has now placed us under a winter weather warning. We have activated local WEBEOC, our Statewide and internal County event system. Road crews will be on call to handle emergency situations that may occur on county maintained roadways. Georgia DOT will manage on system routes. A wintry mix is expected to begin in the early AM as a system low develops and moves up the coast. This mix may change over to some snow with 0-2” possible before it returns to a mix later in the day. We will be monitoring the event as it develops including the possibility of a delayed opening on Thursday given situational developments.

A news release from Fort Stewart PAO said:

"… Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield will be closed except for emergency services (fire department, police services, Winn Army Community Hospital Emergency Room, Labor and Delivery, Emergency Medical Services and DPW Emergency Work Order Services) and mission essential activities as determined by commanders. All outpatient medical appointments at Winn, Tuttle Army Health Clinic, and Richmond Hill Medical Home are canceled. Patients will be contacted by the clinics for rescheduling. The Marne Shoppette and the Hunter Express Shoppette will remain open.  Employees are to account for this time off as administrative leave. Unless notified otherwise, report for duty at the normal reporting times on Thursday."
