A 3-year-old autistic boy was found drowned in a retaining pond 200 feet from his home in Governor’s Quarters on Saturday in Hinesville.

The boy, Ayiden James Quilter, was reported missing around 5 p.m., sparking a search involving on and off duty officers from Hinesville Police Department, the Liberty County Sheriff’s Department, Hinesville Fire Department, Liberty County Emergency Management Agency and “just about everyone,” according to HPD Officer William Oberlander.

The boy’s body was found submerged in the pond about 6:30 p.m.
