Hinesville Mayor Allen Brown was recently named as the chair of the 2017 Mayors’ Motorcade for the southeast district by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA).

“For the past 58 years, this program has been instrumental in raising awareness for the needs of countless individuals in our state’s mental health facilities,” said Brown. “I am honored to have been named chair of a program that I feel so passionate about, and I genuinely look forward to this year’s program at Georgia Regional Hospital in Savannah.”

The Mayors’ Motorcade began in 1959 and is a program that provides holiday gifts for patients of Georgia’s mental health hospitals and raises awareness of the needs of the patients of these facilities.

There are currently five regional mental health facilities in the state of Georgia, serving some 3,200 Georgians. Last year, the Hinesville raised more than $3,000 to contribute to the cause.
