Incumbents appear headed back to office, SPLOST wins

Incumbents appeared to win and so did SPLOST in unofficial results Tuesday night in Liberty County.

With all but a few votes to count, Sheriff Steve Sikes, a Democrat, led Republican challenger Robert Brooks 10,941 to 4,070. Incumbent county commission chairman Donald Lovette led his Republican challenger, Matt Mattingly, 9,305 to 5,831

District 4 commissioner Pat Bowen outpolled challenger Ted Eby 1805 to 1,373..

Liberty County voters also were giving the nod to SPLOST, with 8,848 saying yes and 6,347 voting no.  Voters also said yes to package sales, 9,935 to 5,290.
