Liberty County Administrator Joey Brown said that they have released a certain amount of emergency response crews to start surveying damages, answer emergency calls and restore power.
He said Liberty EMA has received reports of downed trees and power lines and urges residents to remain indoors so crews can clear debris and make areas safe.
He said the east end of the county has extensive power outages and that each power company is reviewing their grid systems for repairs.
“Please do not call 9-1-1 to report a power outage,” he said.
Brown said that crews may be pulled back in if winds gusts increase. Heavy wind and rain is expected in our area for the remainder of the day.
