Debris pickup for much of Liberty County began today and will be conducted during three sweeps over the next 30 days, according to the county’s Emergency Management Agency.

Here’s the press release:

The Liberty County Board of Commissioners, City of Hinesville, City of Midway, City of Flemington, City of Walthourville, and City of Riceboro have hired a private contractor to handle storm debris pickup. We are asking all residents of these areas to put all of your storm debris by the roadside. This includes trees, limbs, and anything else damaged during the storm. Please be sure to separate trees and limbs from any household items. Do not block your mailbox, fire hydrant, or roadways. Debris pickup is scheduled to begin Friday, October 14, 2016 for the City of Hinesville and Monday, October 17, 2016 for Liberty County and all other municipalities , please make sure everything is roadside before then. Spoiled food will need to go to your normal trash receptacle or recycling center.

Update-
The contractor is unable to go on private property or roads that are not county or city maintained.
