The Liberty County Emergency Management Agency has announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency will open a Disaster Recovery Center at the Liberty County Community Complex next week.
The DRC will open Monday Sept. 25 and run through Oct. 1.
FEMA representatives will be accepting applications for disaster assistance from Hurricane Irma. There will also be representatives from the Small Business Administration offering low interest loans to businesses, homeowners and renters.
The Liberty County Community Complex is at 9397 E. Oglethorpe Highway, Midway. The DRC will be open Monday from noon until 7 p.m., Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.

Applicants will receive a unique registration number. This number will be required throughout the claim process and should be noted down and kept in a handy location. Solomon said the deadline to apply for disaster assistance in Georgia is Nov. 14.
