The deadline for applying for an entry in the 2016 Long County MLK Observance Parade is Thursday.

The Long County MLK Observance Committee requests that all parade entry applications be mailed or emailed by Thursday.

The parade begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at Long County Middle School in Ludowici. Parade lineup begins at 9 a.m. between St. James Missionary Baptist Church and Walker Elementary School.

The 2016 theme is “Making the Dream a Reality.” A program will follow the parade in the middle school cafeteria, and Rep. Al Williams, D-Midway, is the keynote speaker.

Anyone interested in making a financial contribution to the parade may send it to Dewitt Porter, MLK Committee Treasurer, P.O. Box 1056, Glennville, GA 30427.
