The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce hosted a farewell dinner for departing Fort Stewart garrison commander Col. Townley Hedrick and his wife, Mary Elizabeth Hedrick on June 29.

It was presented by Mike Reed Chevrolet and Webster University at Bryant Commons in Hinesville.

The focus was on the Hedricks’ time serving on Fort Stewart.

State Rep. Al Williams, D-Midway, Liberty County Commission Chairman Donald Lovette and Hinesville Mayor Allen Brown, shared memories of times with the Hedricks during the past two years.

The colonel recognized garrison staff, as well as leaders from Liberty County and Fort Stewart, who he said worked to serve soldiers and their families.

Sponsors were The Heritage Bank, city of Riceboro, AUSA, Hinesville Military Affairs Committee, GeoVista Credit Union, city of Flemington, Liberty Regional Medical Center and city of Hinesville. There is a photo gallery of the event, at the chamber website at www.libertycounty.org.
