BRUNSWICK, Ga. – The Georgia Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Emergency Management Agency are closing the Liberty/McIntosh Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Midway this Saturday. The agencies are adjusting hours of operation for remaining centers beginning Sunday.
Survivors have until 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, to visit the Liberty/McIntosh DRC in Midway.
Working with county officials, GEMA and FEMA closely monitor visits to DRCs. Operational hours are adjusted or centers close when traffic slows at a location. This allow centers to open in new areas.
As a reminder, the DRC in Chatham County will be relocated this week. Survivors have until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, to visit the Tybee Island location. Beginning 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, survivors can visit the new location in Savannah.
Survivors can visit any Disaster Recovery Center. To locate the nearest center, use the FEMA mobile app or visit www.fema.gov/drc.
