Fire destroys Long County mobile home
Two left without a home
Ludowici fire

Two people were displaced when their mobile home was destroyed by fire Friday night in Long County.

According to Long/Ludowici Volunteer Fire and Rescue Fire Chief Christopher Moss, the single wide mobile home and a camper on the 300 block of Hinely Road NE were destroyed shortly after 11 p.m.

When emergency personnel arrived the mobile home was fully engulfed in flames.  Fire units from Smith State Prison in Glennville and Liberty County Station 15 responded to provide mutual aid.

Moss said the resident of the home went to assist a friend with a computer problem and when he returned his home was on fire.

Moss said the fire is under investigation and declined to comment on the cause.

There were no injuries reported.
