The Liberty County #no filterneeded Geocache Adventure will kick off April 9.

The Liberty County Board of Commissioners has teamed up with the Liberty County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Liberty County Chamber of Commerce, Keep Liberty Beautiful and GeoVista Credit Union to present this event during National County Government Month.
The adventure will take geocachers to 18 stops throughout the county. To compete, participants need to download the Geocaching and WhereYouGo apps, which are available in Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

The geocache locations will go live on April 9 and run until April 30. Upon locating all 18 sites, geocachers will turn their answers in at the La Quinta Inn and Suites, 1740 E. Oglethorpe Highway, Flemington. The first 175 participants will receive a geocache trackable coin for correctly completing the puzzle.

“We’re excited to help coordinate this geocaching adventure. This event will help acquaint tourists and locals with Liberty County’s history and the natural beauty of our area,” Liberty County Convention & Visitors Bureau and Chamber of Commerce CEO Leah Poole said.

A free picnic will be held April 9 to kick off the contest, and attendees will have the chance to win door prizes. RSVP is required to attend the kick-off. RSVP by visiting Facebook at www.facebook.com/events/586808234809776 and click “going,” or call 912-368-4445 or 912-880-4555.
