The Golden Corral building on Highway 84 in Hinesville is back on the market. A Realtor’s sign was placed on the property sometime this week.

Just last week, Golden Corral Vice President of Operations Bob Heyward said the eatery’s recent closure was temporary.

“It closed based upon some financial issues with the lender to the original franchisee …” he said. “It was being operated under a management agreement by another franchisee, but the restaurant is expected to be reopened shortly.”

Heyward said the Golden Corral corporate management team hoped to enter an arrangement with the lender so the restaurant could re-open with the corporation running operations.

“I’m not sure exactly when we can re-open, but it will be as quickly as possible,” Heyward said.

However, a Coldwell Banker, Holtzman Realtors sign was spotted on the property Wednesday.

“The building is for sale,” Realtor and listing agent Jimmy Shanken confirmed.

Golden Corral’s corporate office has not yet returned calls from the Courier.
