Health district honors employee

Liberty County Health Department employee Johnnie Reed was recently recognized for 20 years of service to public health.
Reed, a licensed practical nurse, provides services to clients who are part of the Women, Infants and Children supplemental nutrition program on

Fort Stewart and at the health department in Hinesville. She also provides immunizations and other child health services.
“We are so fortunate to have loyal and dedicated employees such as Johnnie,” Liberty County Health Department Nurse Manager Annie Washington, RN, said. “We depend on Johnnie to provide much-needed public health services in our community, and she is always ready to lend support.”

Reed also received the “Most Inspirational Award” at a staff meeting that included more than 350 employees from throughout the Coastal Health District which is made up of public-health employees in Bryan, Camden, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long, and McIntosh counties.

The award recognized Reed for her ability to “overcome adversity without ever losing faith that she would persevere and succeed.”
