Long County’s Community Action Agency will operate the low-income heating energy assistance program funded by the Department of Human Resources, according to Community Services head Diane Rogers.

Guidelines have been set at 60 percent of the state’s median income. The elderly (65 and older) and homebound will be served through Nov. 30. Applicants must call or come by their local Concerted Services Inc. service center between 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday to schedule an appointment. All other income-eligible applicants may call or come by beginning Dec. 3 and will be served if funds are available.

Long County residents can call 545-2435.
