Six incumbents lost their seats in Long County primary voting Tuesday and a runoff will be required in the only three-person race.
Unofficial results for county commission races are: In District 1, Gerald Blocker defeated incumbent David Richardson 211 to 191. In District 2, Robert Long defeated incumbent Wallace Shaw 215 to 64. In District 4, Kent Hall defeated incumbent Clifton DeLoach 185 to 70. And in District 5, Dwight Gordon defeated incumbent Bobby Walker 252 to 200.
In District 3, early results indicate that a runoff will be required between incumbent Andy Fuller who received 54 votes and challenger Willie Thompson who received 83 votes. Walt Pelton, who also sought the seat, pulled in 29 votes. Thompson was one vote shy of taking a majority of votes, receiving exactly 50 percent.
In board of education races: In District 2, Dr. Carolyn Williamson defeated incumbent Dempsey Golden 143 to 134. And in the District 4, Janet Watford defeated incumbent Linda DeLoach 171-87.
Not all provisional and absentee ballots have been tabulated; official results are scheduled to be released Monday.
