Islands Highway towards Colonels Island and Isle of Wight which were previously closed have been re-opened according to Liberty County Commissioner Chairman Donald Lovette.

Due to the high tide and storm surge the roads were impassable. The waters have begun to recede.

Chris Beasley, county road department operations manager, said Isle of Wight was closed for about an hour to clear debris off the road and re-opned at 5 p.m.

Beasley said Jones Creek is now stable and will continue to be checked.

There are also homes flooded on Hackett's Canal on Isle of Wight.
