After nearly a full day of closing arguments, the wrongful-death trial stemming from a lawsuit brought forward by Kenneth Porter, on behalf of his wife Barbara Porter, was given over to the jury to begin deliberation.

Liberty County State Court Judge Leon Braun gave specific instructions to the 12-person jury after 14 days of testimony, during which expert witnesses took the stand on behalf of the plaintiff and defense.

Barbara Porter, the former chief-operating-room nurse at Liberty Regional Medical Center, died while being treated at the hospital July 30, 2011.
