Latest from National Hurricane Center
IRMA 4

The 11 p.m. projection from the National Hurricane Center shows Hurricane Irma possibly weakening as it hits Georgia sometime Sunday or Monday, but forecasters warn it's too early to say what the storm will do.

Liberty County and Hinesville have both issued mandatory evacuation orders beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, and the county issued a voluntary evacuation order starting Friday morning. Long County remains under a voluntary evacution order begining Friday morning.

Schools in Liberty and Long counties are closed until next week as uncertainty remains about what the powerful Category 5 hurricane will do. Earlier today, Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal extended his state of emergency to include 30 counties, including Liberty and Long.
