Time is running out to vote in the special election for the Liberty County Board of Education’s District 6 seat. The last day of advance voting is Friday.

The election is between Dr. Yvette Keel, a retired educator, and Justin McCartney, who works in the finance department at Gulfstream. The District 6 seat was vacated by Sampie Smith in February.

Advance, in-person voting continues from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays until Friday at both offices of the Liberty County Board of Elections and Registration — at the old courthouse, 100 N. Main St., Suite 100, in Hinesville, and the county community complex, 9397 E. Oglethorpe Highway in Midway.

The very last chance to vote is Election Day, on Tuesday, June 16. All polls in District 6 will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. that day.
