Liberty to turn blue for autism awareness
Blue Church Day Autism Awareness

The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce is inviting the community to turn Liberty County blue April 6 to support autism awareness.

And in an effort to take it a step further they are encouraging local churches to participate in Blue Church Day on April 8 by dressing in their best blue.

Liberty County Board of Commissioners Chairman Donald Lovette will be signing a proclamation at 6 p.m. April 3 in the Courthouse Annex, and Hinesville Mayor Allen Brown will be signing a proclamation at 2:30 p.m. April 5 at Hinesville City Hall, to officially proclaim April Autism Awareness Month in Liberty County.

“We have helped to organize the community around this common goal for two years now,” said Leah Poole, CEO of the Liberty County Chamber/CVB.

She also said that the idea for the community initiative was at the urging of local maven, Gale Dent, who works with the Unique Puzzle Pack, an autism support group in Liberty County.

Help spread autism awareness by dressing in blue, and use the #PaintLibertyBlue hashtag on social media to share the community support.
