It was Panther vs. Panther, as Liberty County’s softball team hosted the Portal Lady Panthers in a non-region softball game Wednesday.
Liberty took an early lead and held on to win 7-1.
Lady Panther Meleina Davis pitched the seven-inning win, giving up only one hit. She struck out five and walked one.
Lady Panther Madison Winn helped sparked Liberty in the first inning. She finished the game with 2 RBIs off a hit. De’Ana Gumataotao went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Davis was 1 for 2 with an RBI.
Lady Panther Navia Telfair was 1 for 1. Liberty is 4-4 overall and will host Brantley County Tuesday at 6 p.m.
