A man reportedly broke into the Mystik convenience store last week in Ludowici, damaging and robbing the store.

According to Ludowici Police Department Investigator Diannia Duncan, a male removed several screws from an exterior metal wall at the store at around 1:30 a.m. May 4, then pulled the sheet metal back.

Then he busted through the interior wall and entered the store through the men’s restroom. The intruder, who was wearing gloves, covered his head with a garment and crawled to the cash registers.

He stole more than $500 and caused approximately $2,000 worth of damage to the establishment, according to Duncan.
She said video surveillance cameras suggest the intruder is a white man with dark hair. The intruder entered the building on the same side as the Huddle House restaurant.

Anyone who saw a vehicle or person around the Mystik convenience store between 12:30-3 a.m. May 4 should call Duncan at 545-9472.
