Members of the Georgia House Military Affairs Study Committee will visit Liberty County on Tuesday and hold public hearings Wednesday, reportedly as part of process to better understand military communities such as Fort Stewart.

The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce will serve as host for the two-day event, which includes a public hearing at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Liberty County Performing Arts Center in Flemington. Those hearings are open to the public.

State Rep. Al Williams (D-Midway) and State Rep. Bill Hitchens (R-Rincon) are among 13 members of the study committee, which is visiting five military bases in the state "to begin a review process to bet-ter understand the dynamic that the military and military communities face," according to a press re-lease from the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce.
