Crawfish Beauty Pageant deadline is April 18

The annual Crawfish Festival Beauty Pageant will be held April 23 at Woodbine United Methodist Church Fellowship Fall, 405 Bedell Ave., Woodbine.

Contestants may compete in Beauty, Prettiest Hair, Prettiest Eyes, Prettiest Dress, Prettiest Smile and Photogenic.
Age divisions are: Baby Miss (age 0-11 months), Toddler Miss (ages 12-23 months), Wee Miss (ages 2-3), Tiny Miss (ages 4-6), Little Miss (ages 7-9), Junior Miss (ages 10-12), Teen Miss (ages 13-16) and Miss (ages 17-21).

Contestants do not have to live in Camden County.

Winners will be invited to participate in the Crawfish Festival, which will be held the weekend of April 29-30 in Woodbine.

Proceeds will benefit the Miss Golden Isles Scholarship Fund. Deadline for entry is April 18.

Hospice Care of Georgia seeks volunteers

Hospice Care of Georgia seeks volunteers to help enhance the lives of those facing a life-limiting illness.

Volunteers contribute in a variety of ways, including lending clerical and office support, spending time with patients or supporting family caregivers.

Volunteering doesn’t require any medical training or a burdensome commitment. Anyone can volunteer.

The commitment can be as simple as reading, running a few errands or spending time with someone.
Hospice Care of Georgia has served many patients and patients’ families in Chatham, Bryan, Effingham, Liberty and Long counties.
