The Liberty County Re-entry Coalition is requesting donations of personal care items.

The Coalition helps recently released prisoners as they transition back into society by providing education, services and referrals for housing and jobs.

LCRC Executive Director Daisy Jones said men and women are referred to the Coalition daily.

“Some are homeless, most are unemployed, and many do not have the basics for personal hygiene,” she said. “This is startling, but it happens. We have given out hundreds of personal care item kits this year, and we will need more.”

The LCRC is currently accepting donations from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday at their center, 205 East Court Street, Hinesville.  Donations will be accepted until the end of January 2018.

Personal care items needed include, toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, deodorant, white socks, plain white shirts, shampoo, lotions and hair brushes.
